Update: Power Restoration Progress
According to official sources, power has been restored in approximately 87% of the country. At our Sevilla datacenter, electricity was restored and diesel generators were disengaged shortly after midnight (CET). We remain cautious but hopeful that the power grid will remain stable moving forward.
Update: Gradual Network Recovery
We are seeing traffic levels slowly returning to normal. Currently, only minimal packet loss is observed on incoming routes. The situation is showing steady improvement, and we are already at a good point. We remain cautious but hopeful that full stability will be restored soon.
Update: Service Disruptions in Spain
Due to major issues affecting Internet Exchanges and fiber transport links, upstream providers are currently unable to deliver stable service. As a result, our services are impacted and cannot be used normally at this time. Please note that our datacenter remains operational and is currently running on diesel generators.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates as they become available.
Critical Notice: Fiber Network Stability Risk in Spain
Our upstream fiber providers have issued a RED ALERT due to ongoing nationwide power outages. Fiber repeaters, typically placed every 100–120 km, are only capable of maintaining service for approximately 6 to 8 hours without external power. If electricity is not restored promptly, we expect progressive degradation and outages across fiber connections in Spain.
Interxion MAD1, which hosts part of the EspanIX infrastructure, has reported a partial loss of critical IT load, including cooling systems. Our team is monitoring the situation closely and preparing for potential escalations.
Due to ongoing large-scale power outages across Spain, mobile networks are experiencing partial service disruptions. Some mobile providers with whom we maintain peering connections are currently facing degraded network performance. Overall network quality in Spain remains significantly impacted, and we do not expect substantial improvements until the nationwide power issues are fully resolved.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates as needed.
A large-scale power outage occurred across Spain and Portugal on Monday afternoon, with minor disruptions also reported in parts of France. The Spanish national rail network and metro systems in Madrid and Barcelona were temporarily halted. Power has been restored in northern Spain after approximately 90 minutes; however, some areas may continue to experience outages for several hours.
Our team is closely monitoring the situation. At this time, our services remain unaffected. Backup generators are on standby to ensure continued operations if necessary.
