Dear Valued Customers,

We hope this message finds you well and gearing up for a wonderful holiday season. At EDIS Global, we are committed to providing exceptional service and ensuring the highest quality in our network performance. Over the past few weeks, we have encountered significant challenges with our network in Amsterdam, including routing issues and packet loss on key incoming routes. These challenges have prompted us to take decisive action to enhance our services and ensure your continued satisfaction.

Network Challenges and Our Response

Our long-standing partnership with our Amsterdam network provider has recently faced some difficulties, leading to less than optimal communication and response to the issues we've encountered. This situation has propelled us to reassess our strategy and take proactive steps to address these problems head-on.

Exciting Developments Ahead

We are thrilled to announce a major upgrade and relocation of our network infrastructure. On Thursday, December 21, 2023, we will be moving our equipment from NFO to Equinix AMS6. This transition is not just a change in location; it represents a significant upgrade to our network capabilities:

Enhanced Connectivity: We are upgrading our machines connectivity from 1 Gbps to 2x 10Gbps per host node, ensuring faster, more reliable and redundant connections.

Expanded Transit Providers: We're adding renowned transit providers to our network, including GTT, Lumen, TATA, Sparkle, NTT, Telia, and Cogent.

New Exchange Points: Joining forces with NL-IX, AMSIX, and Equinix-IS, we aim to further reduce latency and enhance overall network quality.

What This Means for You

Downtime Schedule: To facilitate this move, we will be shutting down our machines at 08:15 CET (07:15 UTC) on December 21. We aim to have everything back online by approximately 13:00 CET (12:00 UTC), and we strive to be faster.

IPv6 Range Transition: Along with these changes, we will transition from the existing IPv6 range 2a00:1768:1003::/48 to our own EDIS Global range, 2a03:f80:31::/48. Please adjust your network configurations accordingly. Your new IPv6 range will be displayed in the management portal. Our Commitment to You

This upgrade and relocation are a testament to our commitment to providing you with the best possible service. We understand that this transition may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period.
